Children's Reading Camp 2025

Children’s Reading Camp 2025 was nothing short of magical—a day filled *with joy, discovery, and life-changing experiences* for every child who walked through our gates.

From the moment the sun rose, the energy was electric. Children dove into a variety of *interactive literacy activities* designed not just to teach, but to inspire. They explored the world of *computers for literacy* , gaining essential digital skills that are vital in today’s world. With *board games* , they laughed and learned, sharpening their minds while strengthening friendships.

Inside our book corners, children got lost in *pages of imagination* during *book reading* sessions, and battled it out in the *spelling bee* with confidence and courage. The *puzzle competition* lit up young minds with excitement, while *toys and games* kept hearts light and joyful. *The Lead Today books* sparked leadership conversations and dreams, while *literacy catch-up sessions* ensured no child was left behind.

But perhaps the most *heartwarming moment* of the day was when the camp extended beyond its borders. *Our children took part in an outreach* to a nearby slum community, bringing with them not just books, but *love and compassion* . They handed out clothes to *community mothers and children* , a gesture that reminded us all of the true power of empathy and giving.

To crown the day, children had a *chance to present* what they had learned, speaking with pride and clarity—proof that reading is not just about words, but empowerment. As the day came to a close, *every child received a free book* to take home—a treasure to continue their reading journey long after the camp ends.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible partners who made this life-changing experience possible:
#RainbowInternationalSchool, #JivtibaFoundation, #OneHope, #GustroBookCenter, #SiproBooks, #RaisingTeenagersUganda, #OldBooksforNewEyes, #BookAid, and the #UgandaNationalLibrary. Your support is sowing seeds of hope, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.

 We hosted 312 Community Children

Together, we are raising readers, leaders, and change-makers—one child, one book at a time.

Christmas Hampers

On 19th December 2024, together with our esteemed Chairperson, had the privilege of spreading Christmas joy within our community. We distributed family hampers to single mothers of the children we proudly sponsor.

This initiative was a heartfelt gesture aimed at easing the holiday season for these resilient mothers and their families. Each hamper was thoughtfully packed with essential items and festive goodies to brighten their celebrations.

The event was filled with gratitude, laughter, and a renewed sense of community. It was inspiring to witness the impact of collective compassion and the smiles on the faces of those we support.

We extend our deepest appreciation to Board Chairperson, for helping us ensure that every family experienced the love and warmth of the holiday season. Together, we continue to make a difference, one family at a time.

International day of the girl child

International Day of the Girl Child

A smiling girl draws happily, her face adorned with vibrant paint
Despite the barriers they face, most adolescent girls are hopeful for the future.

Girls’ vision for the future
The 2024 International Day of the Girl theme is ‘Girls’ vision for the future’.

This year’s theme conveys both the need for urgent action and persistent hope, driven by the power of girls’ voices and vision for the future.

Today’s generation of girls is disproportionately affected by global crises of climate, conflict, poverty and pushback on hard won gains for human rights and gender equality. Too many girls are still denied their rights, restricting their choices and limiting their futures.

Yet, recent analysis shows that girls are not only courageous in the face of crisis, but hopeful for the future. Every day, they are taking action to realize a vision of a world in which all girls are protected, respected and empowered.
But girls cannot realize this vision alone. They need allies who listen to and respond to their needs.

With the right support, resources and opportunities, the potential of the world’s more than 1.1 billion girls is limitless. And when girls lead, the impact is immediate and wide reaching: families, communities and economies are all stronger, our future brighter.

It is time to listen to girls, to invest in proven solutions that will accelerate progress towards a future in which every girl can fulfil her potential.

Fundraising Dinner 2024

Children Reachout Uganda is not just an organization; it’s a collective force for good. Established in 2009, our journey began with a shared vision of creating positive change in the world.

Grounded in the values of compassion, integrity, and inclusivity, we are dedicated to addressing pressing social issues and improving the lives of children

One in every 10 children in Uganda is born with some form of disability. These range from extremely severe physical and/or mental disabilities, to very mild ones that are hardly noticeable.

However, most communities still view disability as a bad omen, bad luck, punishment or a curse for the sins the parents must have committed.

Some people see disability as witchcraft or a contagious condition that should be avoided, which leave families who have children with disabilities alone and isolated.

The lack of readily available support and information to parents prevents them from giving their children quality care at an early age, which in turn increases the severity of the children’s condition. #EveryChildMatters

Life Skills

Toddler's Catch-Up Program is essential for early childhood development.

Teaching essential skills like speaking, listening, obedience, orderliness, patience, and thankfulness can have a profound impact on a child's growth.

These foundational skills not only aid in communication but also in social interactions and emotional intelligence as they grow.

Sanitary Towels

Sanitary towels are a basic necessity for women and girls, yet many in underserved communities around the world do not have access to. This lack of access can have serious consequences for girls, including missing school or work, risking their health, and feeling ashamed or embarrassed.

Providing sanitary towels to underserved girls is an important step in ensuring health, well-being, and dignity. By ensuring that girls have access sanitary towels, we help them stay in school, participate fully in daily activities, and maintain their self-esteem.
Thank you #JacquelineLewis for keeping many girls in school

Children Reading Camp 2024

We believe that if we can help children to learn reading and words, their meanings and how to use them in sentences, then they will be able to understand concepts better and therefore pass standardized exams and be able to stay in school longer.

Our desire is to create a learning environment for our children as well as give them an opportunity to dream.

We do this through providing them with reading spaces that have our set of fully illustrated positive reading, around the values of Character, Responsibility, Excellence, Empathy Discipline and Leadership.

We believe that words change the world, and through an exposure to reading, they will be able to increase their reading skills on one hand, while on the other hand, the words will enable them develop a positive attitude towards life, that they will need as they grow. #Reading Camp 2024
